When I was 13 years old, a stranger stalked me online and traveled 3 states to sexually abuse me. Children between the ages of 12 and 15 are especially susceptible to be groomed or manipulated by adults they meet online.

I am now a Deputy Sheriff and a Victim Advocate. I have found strength in sharing my story and want others to know they are not alone. I also realize the importance of self-care. Never feel bad for taking care of yourself first. You cannot provide for others when you don't have anything to give.
